About Me

Up early on this Sunday morning

I slept from 11:00 PM to 6:30 AM. That is a lot of sleep lol. Now I kinda wish I woke up earlier so I could’ve snuck out of the house to watch the sunrise somewhere. I think it’s going to be another beautiful day.

After my sister gets picked up by her father at lord-knows-when, I think I’ll go find a cafe to do schoolwork. And by cafe I mean the Starbucks down the big, main hill by my neighborhood, haha.

Actually, I woke up thinking about going to mass today, just by myself. I could possibly go to the 8:00 AM one, but I don’t want to leave until Julia gets picked up. Maybe I can go to the 11:30 (or is it 11:00?) AM one. I need a place to meditate and I’ve always thought church buildings had a nice feeling to do so. Before classes started in high school, sometimes I would go to the chapel and sit in a pew (pretty sure the cushions are a deep green color). I wouldn’t really pray, per se, but I was definitely thinking and sometimes would direct my thoughts to God as if we were having a conversation. So, I guess one could say I was praying, in a way. I’ll elaborate on it in a Thought Before Bed sometime.

Welp, time to… stay nestled in my cocoon of blankets for a bit till Julia wakes up, haha.

G’morning!

Being civil

I really don’t like my ex-step-father/Julia’s father. He’s unreliable, self-centered, and has issues with control. He and I used to get along years ago, but now we have a strained but civil relationship. Sure, I’ll answer his phone calls and greet him at the door, but I can’t do anything more than that. I hold back my sass when engaged in small talk. I try not to show disdain on my face whenever he and I speak to each other, which is probably why I’m usually looking at anything but him. He calls ahead of time before picking up his daughter for the day and tells me to get her dressed, which I do without complaint. I feel uncomfortable when he’s in my house for longer than five minutes. It’s just awkward, strained, and full of silent pauses that could be filled with words that are better off left unsaid.

But we’ll smile with our mouths and never with our eyes, upholding this image of civility around my sister. I just gotta do what I gotta do to make the best of this situation for her.

That moment when you wake up after what feels like hours of dreaming about the dude you not-so-secretly crushed on throughout your senior year of high school

Excuse me as I flip a table because that shit came out of fucking no where.
